Vegan Treats | Bethlehem, PA
I first found out about Vegan Treats through Yelp and was able to determine the address and store hours from there. Since my first discovery of this amazing bakery, I have ordered cakes for several occasions including a co-worker’s birthday, intended for both vegans and non-vegans alike! So far, everyone has enjoyed them. Who knew that such deliciousness could stem from without the use of eggs, milk, or butter? ; )
First impressions of store/storefront; there is a lot packed into a tiny place! The bakery specializes in mini-cakes, as well as cookies and doughnuts. Regular sized cakes and other bakery items are available as well. Featured on their website is a larger menu that lists all of their offerings, which can be available when placed as a special order by phone ahead of time. The store hours are extremely convenient as it is open until 9pm (weekdays) or even 10pm some nights! I can’t say that I haven’t made the forty five minute trek after dinner before! Vegan Treats also makes vegan ice cream in-house available in the summer months!
In the meantime, with my most recent trip, I picked up some winners. As far as pricing goes, the cakes range from $7 to $9 each. For me, about 1/2 cake is a serving size. However, on some occasions, a mini-cake may feed just one person. It could be one of those days! Either way, worth it!
Peanut Butter Tandy Cake — My go-to! Filled with chocolate and vanilla cake layers and peanut butter frosting, this is win for me all around. This cake instantly satisfies my sweet tooth. This one is a must-try. 5 stars!
Speculoos Cake — My best friend, Jake, picked this one out for himself. It was a tad too sweet for me as I’m a little sensitive to icing, but he loved it! Just the right amount of cookie flavor. It was moist throughout. Of note, the best part about VT cakes is that they refrigerate well and actually taste better the next day. Who would have thought? 4 star rating from me. 5 stars from Jake.
Raspberry White Chocolate Cheesecake — I loved this one! I think it actually tastes better than non-vegan cheesecake! I don’t know how they do it. Magic? The raspberries added the perfect tart balance to the sweetness of the “cheese”. The graham cracker crust was equally as delicious. Jake is not so much a fan of cheesecake and gave 4 stars. 5 stars from me!
The employees are also very helpful and friendly. We will be back!
